Reflections on a Week of Writing: Celebrating Success and Seeking New Opportunities
Exploring Personal Interests, Building Community Engagement, and Expanding Platform Reach
One Full Week Of Posts Celebration
Hi everyone who reads this! I’ve been having a lot of fun writing this newsletter. It gives me a lot of time to think about the things that I like, and occasionally I get to have really nice conversations with people who support me about the things that I love! So its been awesome! The first post that I made for this was on March 2, 2023 which was a week ago! Since that first post I’ve gotten 4 email subscribers and lots of reads on my articles!
Here’s a view of my stats from the first week.
I’m not sure where all those extra eyes come from, and frankly the substack stats don’t really shed light on the topic much anyway.
The award for most popular post goes to:
Yeah this is not a huge shocker. The name of the article is very eye catching, and it’s definitely something that you would see in some top news articles for any other gaming publication. I think it still ended up sounding very me, but I’m glad that it was able to garner some traction.
Looking Forward
So the question for me is. What did I think about this one week experiment, and do I continue?
I had a lot of fun writing about the things that interest me. The thing that I found even more fun was when people reached out and talked to me about what I wrote. So for the time being I’d love to keep writing this, and I hope for more engagement in the future. I am very excited to start including more audience engagement inside the articles themselves and getting to spend more time with people who love the same things I do.
Expanding Outwards And Asking For Help
Though it has only been one week I’ve felt several of the articles that I’ve written would do quite well if edited and turned into tiktok / instagram / youtube videos. After all the key to doing this whole internet thing is cross pollination of platforms. So I like that I have this very low-cost base to work off of, but I would be interested in talking with people who have ideas for turning these articles into other low-cost internet ventures. I would be willing to pay someone as well to create/edit videos at the very least. I am not made of money, after all my primary source of income right now is a part time job, but I’m sure we could come to some sort of deal. So if you are interested, or know someone who might be interested LMK.
I have a vocal recording setup in my room so ideally I would write and record the script, and have it sent out to someone.
My expectations for this right now are mostly wishful thinking. I expect the process to be slow. I choose to manifest the ideas into existence through words while continuing on whats fun and low cost.
Also the discord server! I’ve gone ahead and created a discord server for the community. A community of only me so far. I really have very little interest in setting up and managing it, so to anyone out there reading who wants early dibs on being a moderator join the server and hit me up.
Final Thoughts
I just wanted to take a second, again to thank everyone who has read this all the way through. I wanted to thank those of you who email subscribed! And thank everyone who chatted with me about something that I wrote about. Like I said before my favorite thing about writing this is just being able to talk to people so please don’t be afraid to message, or comment on these posts, or talk to me in person if you are able.
Please if you are enjoying the articles share them with other people you think might like them.
Thanks again!
Back to your usual programming tomorrow.
